There's plenty of ball-busters on this board. Worst thing you can do is let them get under your skin.

Nice FC, by the way.

TyresmokinRx7 12-29-2003 08:25 PM

That's a nice 7, have you both raced together before?

mazdadrifter 12-29-2003 08:27 PM

you filled the trim? looks like it could be lowered a touch, but i like the side skirts

Boost Addict 12-29-2003 08:29 PM

Don't take this the wrong way, but I think it'll look a lot better without the wing.

1Revvin7 12-29-2003 09:07 PM

5.0 looks nice. 7 looks good, but I'm not feeling the wing.

Leetheslacker 12-29-2003 09:10 PM

What happened to ditching the wing like you said you would on teamfc3s?

i have to agree about the wing, but nice cars none the less

rx7rider87 12-29-2003 09:24 PM

I have a stock wing, but no funds to once its attached get it painted. When the funds raise that will be the first thing to be taken care of. Oh yeah it looks like **** being as high as it is. But I can only take care of one thing at a time until I start making more than $130 a week lol. Yeah ive ran with the 5.0 alot of times. He always has me off the line but around 3rd I pull on him and until about 110 we are pretty even. Due to his gears, he tops out around 115 so thats when I ditch him. Thanks for the compliments, yeah stupid posts piss me of sometime lol

The front bumper also no FTP's.. all molded in.. hence "kitted out". But a pic of my car side by side with any stock FC, youll see the differences..

FCmaniac 12-30-2003 11:12 AM

looks good

Apex is cool, he just speaks his mind and busts some balls

Rob x-7 12-30-2003 03:36 PM

did you get that done or buy it like that?

people always talk about filling in the moldings, and even in the

pics you can see where yours are showing thru.

if you got it done, how did they go about it?

with no FTP lenses the front end reminds me of a 240SX

no **** fool, be both have red 89 verts lol

rx7rider87 12-30-2003 09:45 PM

I got it a stock 87 TII.. The molding actually isnt showing through, its gone completly. Its jus there is a curve in the body there. It was filled flush with the body, fiberglassed, ground down then got a million layers of bondo and spot putty untill it was "perfect"

joe2dmax 12-31-2003 12:15 AM

somehow i have been liking those old mustangs. I like that nice setup there.

as for the fc.. ditch the cart wing and it should be nice.. the regular wings are really nice already.. why change it?

nice car. keep em both beautiful and waxed...

rx7rider87 12-31-2003 12:27 AM

I love foxbody mustangs. His is about the cleanest I have eevr seen, online or inperson (exterior only).

must be my eyes playing tricks with me then because I swear I can

still see the moldings.

good luck with the car

i.didnt.do.it 12-31-2003 11:27 AM

Wow; car looks sexy filled in moldings. Rear bumpers molded too...******' nice!

rx7rider87 12-31-2003 08:18 PM

Yeah your eyes are playing tricks on you then. No molding is showing at all. Thanks for all the comments though..

rotary_revolution_0 12-31-2003 08:27 PM

I always wanted to get my mouldings filled in... How much did that one set you back? Prolly a TON of money... Like the 7, and the stang is s3xy too......

rx7rider87 12-31-2003 10:33 PM

It didnt set me back more than $500 at the very most. Only had to buy a few types of bondo, spot putty, fiberglass tape and the fiberglass jelly. Then aton of differnt git sandpapers and some block sanders. Most of it is just the time it took

this isnt a good step by step for someone looking to duplicate

your results.

so you did the work yourself?

rx7rider87 01-01-2004 05:06 PM

Yeah I did the work with my dad, I didnt even know how to approach it so all the direction was from him. Im almost about to start helping my brother with his fc. Why is it not a good step for someone looking to duplicate it?

Because you never really did give out any instruction on how to accomplish it.Looks tight in those other pics tho.I think that wing look right at home on the car tho.

rx7rider87 01-01-2004 11:01 PM

If someone wants more detialed instructions just pm me and I will write them uo for ya

The molding marks are absolutely visible in that pic, which means they must stand out like a sore thumb on the road. Why not have the metal rebent to fill in the rail, rather than stuffing a bunch of bondo and stuff in there? Seems like a bit more work, but a much better look. Or aluminum strips welded to the body panels like a long thin patch.

pengaru 01-02-2004 10:21 PM

anyone wanting to duplicate the mold filling should just go buy a book on using composites, there are plenty out there and if you are serious about attempting it get some reading material that you can keep on hand.

beware that it's likely the bumper skins will crack around the filling eventually, since the bumper is like tupperware and the glassing you do will end up more brittle and have different thermal expansion properties, it will probably have issues there.

but if you get replacement bumper skins that are composite throughout with the trim shaved in the mold they were pulled from, filling in the remaining sheet metal panels should work fine.

I think it looks nice except the skirts and wing.

dont worry old man i can see where the molding is too, there's like a rectangular miscolored line fiollowing the path of the moldings, at least in the pic, maybe not in real life

oh and who called that a wing? thats quite obviously the St Louis Arch thing, you dumbasses.
