i have a turbo II with the circle tail lights.....i would like to make my signals...signal faster...as if you disconnected the front lights and they become rapid.....how do i have them all lit and signal faster...???

vosko 04-28-2003 01:13 AM

i don't know. why would you bother doing that ? its a ricer thing to do ! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif

Replace them with strobe lights. Then go and get a flashing LED shift knob to match it. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif

If you were handy with a soldering iron and electronic circuit design, you could replace the flasher with a timer circuit and set the flash rate anywhere you wanted to. The key question here is......WHY?

This may seem like a harsh thing to say, but I suggest you buy a honda

Geoffman72 04-28-2003 07:36 PM

Yeah, theres no need for rapid turn signals. They are more of an annoying distraction than anything.

turbovr6 04-28-2003 07:57 PM

not to condone the rice manuver, but not all flashers are the same, if you find the right one, they will go faster

ECKO1980 04-29-2003 12:49 PM

Go to www.clubSI.com they will no doubt know there!

haha, you guys are mean.. But it's true the the ricers have made it like their trend.. I want to stick adjustable flashers on my car too, cuz when you are speeding on the highway and you switch lanes the normal blinker speed is not good enough to let others know of your swift decision.. Not that I condone speeding on the highway(mwuhahahaha).. anywayz.. if you really do want to do it, check out www.autoi.com They sell a thing called the Quik Flash.. which lets you adjust the blinker speed, so you can change it only when you want to..

j9fd3s 04-29-2003 01:22 PM

i did it on mine, you need a smaller bulb

which can be a good thing..

your seen..

75 Repu 04-29-2003 01:50 PM

Yeah, I like the adjustable kind because you can speed it up only when you need it.. That way people will stay out of your way..

relisys190 04-29-2003 11:51 PM

I just inserted the ricer blue bulbs, acctually white when lit. and i also created my own Clear flash lenses. we should all know that trick.. let me post a pic

I accidentally discovered a way to get the rear tailights to blink faster but you loose the front signal lights. Take the bulb out of the front signal light.

For some reason this causes the rear one, at least in my car, to blink superfast. The reason I know this is that when it came out of the paint and body shop, the front signal light bulb was missing. When I would signal in the direction of the missing bulb, everything blinked really fast. It is illegal not to have the front signal light but could get you what you want really cheap. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/rolleyes.gif https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Geoffman72 04-30-2003 10:30 AM

A missing or burnt out bulb in any car will do that FYI.

75 Repu 04-30-2003 10:39 AM

I think it has to do something with the resistance of the relay.. Anyway.. wherre did you get the clear side markers, not the ones you made but the ones on the side of the car...? I think they would look OK on my car..

I have never attempted doing it on my rx7 but what is the trick, my only guess is there is a thin sheet of yellow plastic behind the light that is easy to remove? I guess you could dip the light in some kind of acid lol.. how.. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif ? Sorry if I am the only guy here who doesn't know this but It is a very cool appearance mod that I am interested in doing...

Thanks,

Joseph

Well, my front lenses are acctualy my old FTP lenses. i cut the section i needed out of them.. turned out really well

THe Side markers are acctually floresent bulb covers (big plastic things you see at department stores that cover

the lights... (know what i'm talking about?)

Anyway it cost 5$ from home depot for a big sheet (didnt need all that much) and i traced and cut out the size that i needed

put some clear silicon on the back (make sure it's not adhesive silicone) and than their sealed up and it looks reall good

I havnt had a problem with them ye

Have any questions? post em here .. instead of 60-80$ for clear side and front markers i made my own with 5$ https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif
