Y'know how FC's could be bought with that kit from the factory that lowered the drag coefficient. In a book i have the author says it came with the front lip, the black thing by the wheels (he described it a little differently), knowthe rear spoiler, and an aluminum undercarriage.
The question is what does he mean by aluminum undercarriage. I kknow my car doesn't have a full undertray, even though I had the rest of the pieces. Anyone know what Im talking about? |
Is right under neath the oil pan. I still have mine.

maybe he just meant aluminum suspension components?

C Nope, there is an aluminum cover just after the plastic cover. It covers the engine's oil pan |

I honestly cant remember there being a thing like that on my car, does it cover the whole pan? Who knows maybe its there and I cant recall, I really only go under there once or twice a year anyhow, lol. |
i have been under carlos car once and i don't remember lol
|
Remember before MADS at my house. It was the last thing I was installing in the car before putting it down.
No u dont' have to take it out to get the oil out. It has a opening to get to the oil drain nut. I have a pic. I have to find it. C PS Ups i hit edit under your post V. Sorry. I forgot I could do that and didn't even notice i did. LOL |
when we went to mads finishing up your car so you could go instead of wasting the $300 you paid to go LOL

thats what thats for, lol. I though it was so rocks and things didn't hit the oil pan.
|
OK, I admit, I havent been under my car in a while so I cant remember what ur talking about.
The next question is..... Does anyone make a full undercarriage w/ ground effects, like a ferrarri or something. Y'know downforce without spoilers etc... I think that would be cool. |
that only works at 140 mph....how often do you do that and how much does a wind tunnel cost to develop it?     https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif

I have always said that someone comes out with a bumper or side skirts, and people think they are giving the car a aerodynamic advantage by bolting this crap on, Mazda spends countless hours in the windtunnel to design a car, and some backyard guy makes a fiberglass bumper or hood and people think its the best thing since white bread. Where is the proof? I think its a mental thing, trying to sell yourself on the idea after, kinda like " I spent $5000 on this kit, man does the car feel better" |
yeah mazda spent time on in the wind tunnel and made a bunch of areo bits
mike |
Hey ROB......why does it have to be white bread.....why can't it be Rye.? and that pan was developed by mazda. IT was a dealer option, according to the local dealer in town.

Personally I think unless a body kit has actuall wind tunnel testing to varify any gains it is BULLSHIT.
