Would a blown gasket on the exhaust manifold cause jittering and stalling out? Because someone told me that my gasket was blown and it has a vacuum leak really bad. It also only runs like 10 lbs. of boost on the gauge. Also how hard is it to change the gasket? It took me awhile to get to the heat sheild bolts.

A vacuum leak is before the combustion chamber, so a blown exhaust gasket would not cause it. If you are having idle problems, look for a leak after the TB but before the block itself.

As for the exhaust leak, stick your hand around the manifold and turbo when you first start up and see if you can feel bursts of air coming out.

The smell of exhaust is another sign.

A lot of times you can hear it as well. It sounds like a tapping that goes away as you rev

Good luck

I found out that when I checked the gasket I had forgot to plug in that soloniod by the intake at the intercooler. I just got the gasket off and the new one is now on but I was rushing through and got done and when I went to start it, all of a sudden, oil spot by the turbo. I guess I forgot a line. But i have to check it tommorow. Is there something else I probably forgot?

Oil spot on the ground ny the turbo?

Just make sure the oil in and return lines are torqued to specs and then see if your still leaking oil.

I had an exhaust leak right outside my exaust manifold and because of that i was running no boost my car sounded like **** and it was a bitch to get my turbo out to replace it, and on the other hand it was such an expensive gasket to replace i was pissed, just thought i should add that sry https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/happy.png

I put everything back together and started it and found somemore leaks and put gasket maker on them and ran good with more boost than I knew what to do with. Parked it at my cousins house and my uncle ran inside and told me my car was on fire! F#@k! So now I have to find all the electrical and sensors stuff on the exhaust side. And also a new hood. If anyone has alot of theose parts, it would be very helpful.

on fire, how muuch damage, what was burning? was it caused by a fuel leak? just curious, maybe fuel pulsation damper? later

THe intake piping, from the filter to intercooler. The big wad of wires by the boost sensor and the sensor. and some vaccum hoses. It was probably caused by an oil leak. I had put some blue gasket maker on the oil inlet and outlet pipes on the Turbo so it was probably that. The turbo still looks good. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683894.gif
