i recently picked up an 88 se for 800 bucks, its got some body damage, needs a bumper, fender, and hood, but it runs well, i replaced those pesky shifter bushings, but the other night, a high speed run caught me airborne after hitting a dip that i didn;t notice at about 65 mph, now its a bitch to put in gear, and i don't think the clutch is " clutching" properly, it grabs when i need to go, but when i press it down, even all the way, it wants to roll when i try to put it in first, even on a slight uphill, kinda scary, this also causes for some sloppy shifts, i wanna get back out there and smash on ricer civics asap, any cost effective ideas?

I'd fix everything up first.. (body work, any mechanical probs) Make her feel better about herself.. then worry about racing civics, etc.

True...True...

Never jumped an Rx-7 but I have rolled one. As for the car you might want to inspect it first. $800 sounds a little cheap and it might not be slipping due to the jump.

its not slipping, it grabs perfect, just way too soon,

$800 is a good deal. I bought mine for $500 exactly a five days ago. and guess what, it's an 88 SE! Blue. She runs like a pissed-off hornet. Mine has no damage at all, mechanically or w/ the body...and it has some awesome wheels! N E wayz, I don't know alot about 7's as of now, but the problem you're having sounds to me like a throw-out bearing. A more professional diagnosis is needed. I know if you're sitting still with the clutch all the way in and it is in gear, a bad throw-out bearing will cause it to creep forward. My Ranger does it...but so little that I can barely notice it. If that's the diagnosis, that's good. They don't cost that much, especially compared to some of the other Mazda parts I've looked at.

i adjusted the cable( it looked more like a small bar) at the clutch pedal, so that i don't have to push as far, for it to release fully, fixed the whole problem, now i just need new suspension, like you wouldn't believe, my budget is about 500 to 600 dollars, recomend some brands for me. after that comes the body work, it runs great now, all i need is for this damned rain to quit, so i can get traction.
