i have an 88 motor problem the car runs but when it run for a period of time it pushes antifreeze out of the block into the overflow jug what's wrong

I am not sure if you have received any replies yet, but I am having the same problem. You may have weakened/cracked soft seals around your rotor housing(s). The pressure swept by the rotor pushes coolant out from this seal and back to your coolant tank. I hate to say it, but you may have to tear apart the engine and replace the soft seals (may be ordered from mazdatrix.com)

Does it over heat? Does it suck the water back in as the engine cools?

sounds like ur getting compresion back into the radiator do u drive it around with it pushing out coolant into the overflow tank, i'm saying its a matter of time before ur going to be doing a rebuild

Yep, probably bad coolant o-rings. This is often caused by a break in the casting for the o-ring groves. On my car it was the center housing. You'll have to pull the engine and replace whichever housing is broke. Odds are you can get one in the for sale forum. Look on the bright side, while its out for rebuilding you might as well port it out, and see if you can get S5 rotors and counterweights. Its not too difficult as long as you do your research ahead of time.
Good luck Andy |
