exactly how difficult is it to put the FD twin turbo motor into a FC TII. It seems to me from what i have read that it is wuch a big pain in the ass and so expensive, that you are better off going for a 20b. Any input on this? Any idea of the costs associated with doing this if you do most of the labor yourself?

Thanks

there is an old sayin, if you have to ask how much then you cannot afford. im around 30k and still goin on my swap.

We have a forum here dedicated solely to engine swaps, and if you look back a bit you can see my REW swapped fc thread. In addition, I sell bolt-in engine mounts through my site. Just click on my sig.

any engine swap can cost a lot. i found that out the hard way, after i spent about twice what i could afford, but im getting ready for a 13brew into fc swap

either swap gets expensive....

now that adams got mounts, its easy to get either the cosmo, or fd engines into the fc, and mounting them becomes the easy part

But dont kid yourself. Even with the bolt-in mounts, you still have to do all the wiring(you would be crazy to not use a standalone), coolant and oil and fuel plumbing, custom exhaust, etc. Its the details that nickel and dime you to death.

The REW offers no benafit over other 13bs making it a worthless swap unless the motor was givin to you. The twins only work with stock ECU not to mention the fact they suck.

i think the rew is a better motor than most other 13b's. and the twins dont suck. i prefer them over a single turbo, but thats just me.

The rew has several advancements over the bt, but none that make the motor swap worth it. They're both going to be in the same power range with the same turbo and port job.

The 3rd gen turbo system is a huge pain in the ass. Now when they are working flawlessly, yeah they are great. Advantage with the single is simplicity, and more power obviously. Also more options.

Either swap is expensive. Think about it. You are taking a motor and putting it into a car that it DOES'NT belong to. What do you expect? Everything to go smoothly?
