Hey guys

A friend of mine works for Wynn automotive fluids, and has this machine that you remove the oil filter and replace with a adapter plate and then you remove the oil plug, hook up a hose to the drain, and then you run an engine flush thru with the engine running. After the engine comes up to tempature, it sucks all the oil out of the engine. Then you replace a new filter and put the plug back in and fill with oil. He says it will hold almost an extra quart because it removes all the oil, even what sets in all the nooks and crannys of the motor. My consern is if it indeed breaks down all the carbon and varnish deposits, will my motor with 93k smoke even worse, and use more oil. OR do you guys think this sounds like a good idea? Has anybody had this done? Could this dmage the apes seals? With a piston engine I think this is probably a good thing based on the fact that it would free up all the deposits and allow for easier movement in the engine. I am uneasy about this. your thoughts and opinions are most appreciated. p.s. 89 Gtu Na https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/wacko.png

Unless this friend has specific knowledge that this will work on RX-7s then I would not do it. Remember, the RX-7 actually burns oil, albeit, a small amount. Will this stuff burn at all? Also, if you dont know what it may do to the seals than I would not do it. If it does not burn, where will it go and what effect will it have on where it goes. There are a lot of folks out there that are great mechanics with piston engines but have no clue what goes on with a rotary. They think they work the same and nothing could be farther from the truth. Be careful.

Start changing your oil very regularily and this won't be an issue.

I would think the only place you would want to clean would be on the combustion side of the rotors, housings, and apex seals, springs. You could do this by using the ATF treatment, but I wouldn't bother unless your engine is a acting like its on its last leg. You could run a little Marvel Mystery Oil in your own oil. You could also run some in your gas, but it probably wouldn't be very much. I've never done it however, its just what I've heard.
