Hi All-
I'm helping a friend get his '86 NA back on the road after his engine fire. I know there are common causes for many of the fires in these cars.... I've got the dynamic chamber and intake manifold off, and I'm wondering what I should replace/examine under there besides the stuff that obviously got crispy (mostly vac hoses, I'm replacing all the fuel hoses too). He got the fire out relatively quickly, there wasn't a whole lot of damage. Just a burst water hose (easily fixed) and lots of nasty white powder everywhere! Here's a couple of pics: http://www.geocities.com/workhouse_master/rx7pics.html What's the usual culprit for fires like these? Pulsation dampener? Injectors? Thanks for the info! |
