Cruise control failed while driving at highway speed. Worked initially, was briefly disengaged (in a congested area) but failed to engage again. Anybody have any clue what may be the cause and a fix?

About the same time I noticed that the "shift up" signal no longer comes on. Not sure whether the two problems are related.

Does anybody know where I can find a useful circuit diagram of the RX-7 ('86 GXL manual transm)? And a manual that addresses the electrical system in some detail?

Appreciate any suggestions.

Did it just happen once, and you never tried it again? Or did it happen several different times? Or have you tried several times, and it never engages now? Each of these might diagonse different things...

One real likely problem is that the switch assembly is broken.

Cruise control no longer works at all. But when I try to engage it by pressing the button, the MAIN light still comes on.

Well, you've lost cruise. The switch is a separate module from the wiper switch, so you could just try replacing it. Remove the cowling around the guage cluster, disconnect the wires, remove the switch, assembly is the reverse order https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif
