how can i tell if my electric suspension is working? my car is a 1990 gxl non turbo 5-speed,i just recently purchased the car ,on normal it seems to be the same as sport when i push either of the buttons. does it actually work well?i cant really tell the difference if it does,is there any way to tell if it is not working or functioning propertly? is the previous owner replaced the suspension with a lower grade strut or something like that would it still work or would you absolutely need the same sytem from the factory?thanks for the help i erally appreciate it.

For the system to work you need the electronically controlled shocks and struts. They're VERY expensive. The system doesn't really make a noticeable difference.

The settings don't differ much from each other.

I have an 86 gxl with the electronic suspension, they did come like that out of the factory, and there is a noticeable difference betweent he 2 settings, if you put the car on a jack, you should be able to see or hear the shocks softening or hardening the damper. hope this helps

I still havent tried mine, as soon as I bought my car, I needed a rebuild, so I get it back in 2 weeks.. haha. did you need to put it on the jack, or could you just tell?
