what do any of you guys know about electric fans? i dont think my factory one is getting enough belt friction since the air pump is gone.. it makes horrible squealing noises.

Get a dual belt alternator pulley. They're in the parts for sale/wanted section for about $20.

Are you sure that the fan clutch is in good shape?

yeah its fine. when it gets hot its hard to turn. its actually off the jspec engine https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

evilT2 07-24-2002 11:08 AM

ahhh. pulley, much cheaper than a new fan

UniqueTII 07-24-2002 11:42 AM

Vosko, why don't you have a belly pan?

vosko 07-24-2002 12:14 PM

it wasn't on the car when i got it. previous owners did strange things to rx7's that i can't even begin to comprehend

UniqueTII 07-24-2002 12:18 PM

I think you should order one. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

I think I should order one as well...part of mine is really bent up (I'm going to try to heat it and bend it back) and 2 of the bolt holes in the front are going to need 1" washers, because I melted the thing off the other day.

vosko 07-24-2002 12:36 PM

i gotta see how much they cost

UniqueTII 07-24-2002 12:41 PM

http://www.mazdarecycling.com probably has them, but shipping would bend you over.

vosko 07-24-2002 01:58 PM

i might be able to get one from the junk yard

are you using the Griffin radiator? If you're not using the fan shroud then it will run hotter than normal.

I think vosko is in the "permanently bent over" position. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png
