My Haltech E6X has been reliable, but I can't say it was cheap. Cheap ECU is probably gonna be Megasquirt. Either way, you either need to be (or be willing to get) familiar with tuning or know someone who is good at it.

Cheap and ECU should be two things that are never really used together... It controls everything in the engine so I couldn't see risking it.. I'll be going with PFC or Haltech... Maybe AEM EMS.

i dont know much about them but i see a lot of guys run the mircotech ones

ReD_TO4b 09-09-2011 10:07 AM

ive heard haltech alot. how risky is it to run a full fuel system upgrade with the stock ECU?

RicerJ 09-10-2011 02:22 AM

as far as i know its not gonna take full advantage

what about Rtek7 ECU upgrades? They have several different versions for different power goals, and The Rtek 2.0 is a fully tunable version with a PDA hookup. 400.00 for the 2.0 cheap compared to the halteck. http://www.pocketlog...tage=1&ecu=S4T2
