are there any cheap and easy ways to get some power out of my 89 turbo II?
someone told me to get a SAFC, fuel cut defender, and port out my turbo to get up to about 10psi |
By an LS1.

find an hks fcon on ebay, racing beat turbo back system, walbro pump and an intake. Even with the stock turbo, itll run like a raped ape!
|
i agree with all that seth says
|
Rx7man629 has an F-con. PM him he might give it up.

A true cold air intake, or methanol injection makes a good punch for what it costs...
|
all wrong.
the cheap most inexpensive way to get more power out of your car is to strip the interior, and go on a diet yourself. less moving mass = faster car total cost to you = $0 |

I tell people this when discussing bicycles... It is even more true with bikes. Just think of how much a person would pay to have a bike that is 20 lbs lighter. |
Define "cheap" although Slider does have the right of the cheapest way to go about it.
|
I'd say go for a strip down on your car, drift style.
Like what FC3slider said... and lose those extra pounds.... |
Do the throttle body mod. i noticed a slight increase in power,
and it's free if u know how to weld if not it will only cost you around $20. Here's a how-to link http://www.rx7turbo.com/tbmod.htm |
Buy a 'Mean Kitty' sticker and put it on your car...that's like 30whp right there...

Get an aftermarket exhaust. Most bang for buck IMO. Though thats based on a turbo model

For a turbo back exhaust, just some generic exhaust tubing would do. A nice turbo back system vs generic exhaust shop steel tubing would make the same power if they are the same diameter and mandrel bent.
|
does anyone know how much an hks f con runs for? used or new
|
Rotary whats in your avatar? Looks like Kylie Minogue going into hyperdrive...
|
a used header and an exhaust cut-out from http://www.badlanzhpe.com/ you can get it all for probley about $220. Even less if you get a used pacesetter instead of a used racingbeat header.
and $3.99 for industrial ear muffs from harbor freight. |
