are there any cheap and easy ways to get some power out of my 89 turbo II?

someone told me to get a SAFC, fuel cut defender, and port out my turbo to get up to about 10psi

fc3s4utnv 08-14-2006 11:05 PM

By an LS1.

cymfc3s 08-14-2006 11:06 PM

find an hks fcon on ebay, racing beat turbo back system, walbro pump and an intake. Even with the stock turbo, itll run like a raped ape!

Node 08-14-2006 11:15 PM

i agree with all that seth says

Jonlax 08-15-2006 12:16 PM

Rx7man629 has an F-con. PM him he might give it up.

I thought ape raping was the new thing?

Thats wut the evil scientist told me this morning....

-----------

Remove the AC, powersteering, spare tire.

Take out all and any extra interior stuff.

Headers and a racing beat cat back.

1Revvin7 08-16-2006 08:12 PM

A true cold air intake, or methanol injection makes a good punch for what it costs...

FC3Slider 08-21-2006 12:19 AM

all wrong.

the cheap most inexpensive way to get more power out of your car is to strip the interior, and go on a diet yourself.

less moving mass = faster car

total cost to you = $0

Define "cheap" although Slider does have the right of the cheapest way to go about it.

Street_Knight 08-23-2006 10:40 PM

I'd say go for a strip down on your car, drift style.

Like what FC3slider said...

and lose those extra pounds....

AllMotorFC 09-02-2006 02:46 PM

Do the throttle body mod. i noticed a slight increase in power,

and it's free if u know how to weld if not it will only cost you around $20.

Here's a how-to link

Buy a 'Mean Kitty' sticker and put it on your car...that's like 30whp right there...

cost to you = -50 bucks in the money you dont spend on food!

the TB mod helps more along with other modifications such as the safc, which i absolutly hate btw but it does get the job done (i used one for awhile). i would also look into a Rtek, either the 2.0 or the 1.7/1.8. for light mods, such as the ones im listing, the 1.7/1.8 is perfect. remember to port the stock wastegate and get a 3" turbo back exhaust. i have a friend whos car dynoed at 250 WHP with those mods on a S5 turbo and manifold. i had this exact setup and it was lots of fun, now i have a T4/67 and a E8 >https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

www.pocketlogger.com for the rtek

cost is:

Rtek 1.7 125

The 2 injectors for the Rtek (2 720's) 100-150

Exhaust 200

SAFC 150

625 for a nice, not to extreme setup that doesent really comprimise reliablity(sounds good to me), well the little reliablity that it allready has. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

LOL!!!

Jedi 09-02-2006 07:48 PM

Get an aftermarket exhaust. Most bang for buck IMO. Though thats based on a turbo model

you freakin LIAR!!! that was the worst 50 bucks i ever spent!!! i bought a **** load! and alls it did was get me beat up!

Yeoldestyle 04-05-2008 05:17 AM

For a turbo back exhaust, just some generic exhaust tubing would do. A nice turbo back system vs generic exhaust shop steel tubing would make the same power if they are the same diameter and mandrel bent.

RotaryXplosion7 04-07-2008 03:32 AM

does anyone know how much an hks f con runs for? used or new

defprun 04-08-2008 02:08 AM

Rotary whats in your avatar? Looks like Kylie Minogue going into hyperdrive...

oinesra 04-25-2008 02:07 PM

a used header and an exhaust cut-out from http://www.badlanzhpe.com/ you can get it all for probley about $220. Even less if you get a used pacesetter instead of a used racingbeat header.

and $3.99 for industrial ear muffs from harbor freight.
