Ive got to do a stress/strain/deformation analysis on something for class, and was thinking that the FC's rear suspension and DTSS would be great for that, since it has the bushings and stuff designed to yield a bit to change rear toe. Do you guys know of anywhere i can find specific dimensions or more info on the system, short of taking apart my car's rear suspension and measuring ****?

You better get an A for this project you are doing. I'm not sure about the durometer for the mazda rubber. It turned to dust when i removed the grade 8 14 mm bolt after i hit it with an impact gun. The metal sleeve appears to be inserted, and rubber is cast around it. A metal sleeve of 34 mm serves as the outer part of the bushing which contacts between the aluminum floating triaxial hub. Rubber is cast between this metal sleeve and the inner metal sleeve which allows for axial deflection. The outer 34mm sleeve appears to be made from 18 gauge steel. The inner metal sleeve with the 14mm ID hole is 55 mm long, the rubber bushing itself with the 34mm OD sleeve is 50 mm long (both measured axially). Two dust caps act to prevent moisture from attacking the rubber cast between the two metal sleeves.



Specs for overal bushing:



34mm OD

14mm ID



the inner metal sleeve has the 14 mm ID hole, see attached pics.
