I've found the instructions for the DIY FCD on team fc3s and had a few qusetions:

Will this work for an S4?

Does anybody here currently run this FCD?

Have there been any issues with this FCD?

Thanks.

Coincidence, wow. I just put the Paul Stoaks link in another post.

Yes, S4. In fact I think it's only for the S4.

I ran it for over a year w/o any issues.

If I remember right, there was one small correction to the schematic. I've att'd that.

paul stokes FCD is for S4.

I built it and run it in my S5... the only difference is that the S5 connector is missing a pin, i can't rmember what is was, 12V maybe? or was it 5V ref?

anyhow it was designed for S4 cars.

It's the 12v pin.

On the S5 you have to get the 12v for somewhere nearby.

I used the spare 12v pin in the windshield wiper connector.

I'm running that design as built by "YearsOfDecay"

does anybody have an updated parts list?

There's a few pieces on the Paul Stokes link from teamfc3s that no longer exist on the Jameco catalog. And I don't know enough about electronics to know what I can use in their place.

Which parts are you having trouble with? All the stuff can be found at Radio Shack (if you have to).

sorry to bring up such an old post but i would like to clear this up

r1, r2,r3 are resisters right? (2)10k omh and (1) 680 ohm?

d1,d2, and d3 are diodes right? would that be any kind of diode? are there different kinds?

and what does "c1" mean and "lm385"?

any help would be greatly appreciated and helpful

thanks
