Ok, so were working on ecko's car today. Taking off all emissions. And we run into these little nozzles. Ive never run into them before .. mainly because i havent really worked on a s4 engine. So anyways, my question is .. what do they do? I know what they are ... and i want to know if we need them or not for emissions.

Those nozzles are the oil injectors, if I am thinking about the same thing as you are. S5(s) also have them.

yea look slike the oil injector hoses, scrapped on my car

sidewinderx7 04-14-2003 10:46 PM

Any ill affects after scrapping them? Will it smoke more?

rmaiersg 04-14-2003 10:55 PM

My engine had those and it's an s5. I don't know how the vacuum fits into the whole picture though. Sorry

Unless you want to Premix your oil with your gas dont remove them. What do you mean by smoke more?

Those nozzles inject oil into the combustion chamber. without them you can also remove the Oil metering pump as well as the Oil lines.. But your gunna have to Premix with every tank of gas when you remove them. Otherwise. No oil and KABOOM!

We dont want to remove the nozzles we just want to know if we can take the vacumelines off and cap them.

Nope you have to keep them. Unless you plan on running premix. And Travis, they are on your engine too. lol!

I know theyre on my engine, i just dont remember seeing them right there. On his engine, there is a huge octopus style hose thats there ... It looks out of place, thats why i asked https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

You have to cap them if you remove the vacuum lines. If you do this, the engine vacuum at idle/cruise will suck in more oil than normal. Its not enough to make the car smoke, but it will foul plugs quicker.
