Sup everyone, i previuosly posted about my rx7 flooding. I then got advice to try the atf trick. I did so and to my suprise the car started but only for about 2 seconds then died. It went to about 500-800 rpm then died, the engine wouldnt rev up if I gave it more gas either there was nothing I could do to save it. I tryed it 2 more times and the same thing happened. What in the world can this be??Is it possible my injectors are shootin too much gas or maybe one is faulty. If neone can help I would greatly appreciate it, I gotta get my baby out for the summer you kno...Thanx alot Jay

did the car ever run or did it always flood?

i'm kinda lost. did you complete the process of the atf trick orrrrrr? check plugs?

Using the atf will foul the plugs. You will have to pull them and clean them. You should buy some new ones as well if you already haven't. If you couldn't get the car going before you put aft in it, it is probably still flooded. With the old plugs in I would pull the egi fuse by the shock tower and crank the engine for 3-4 times in intervals of 12-15 seconds. Then I would put in the new plugs, replace the egi fuse and crank the engine over. It will more than likely kick over for a couple of seconds and then flood out again. After this I would put the gas pedal to the floor and crank it. Some say not to on the S4's but putting the pedal down has worked for me. It will start slow and run rough when it starts so you might have to feather the pedal a bit. Anyways thats just a suggestion, hopefully its nothing major. I know you have already tried unflooding it, not trying to be redundant or anything.

I just threw in the engine and I kno it ran because I knew the kid and he swapped it with an allready ported engine. The engine was sitting for a year b4 I got an Rx and threw it in cause mine was blown. I kno it has compression as well and everything is hooked up right. also I have an 88 the engines from an 89 I had to change the front cover. everythings hooked up properly. I did eveything for the atf trick. and the plugs are brand spankin new. I also tryed holdin the pedal Isamu, still no good. and when the engine was in my car it never ran it allways flooded. Whats goin on??

tps= throttle position sensor

Don't forget to check the intake air-temp sensor, the MAP sensor, water-temp sensor next to the thermostat and the AFM, and make sure the BACV and AWS have hoses conected to them.
