ok guys I noticed my car needed a thermosat houseing and thermo stat so i went to the dealer of mazda in irving and got the parts for the jop! All went well but i had to let the car sit for about 3weeks in the tx heat while i gathered some money I did everything as I should and now when I turn the key and it trys to start but does not and after awhile as-in like 10sec it makes a loud exslosion sound but it comes right out the exsast https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif and it does that every time what do u think it could be?

Yup it sure does.Do you know the unflooding procedure thread starter?Let me know if not and I will help you with that.Sorry to hear about the problem but it could be worse you know. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

I already tryed that and it dident help at all. What about the fuel pump its sounds very loud when the car is just in acc mode and check this out it made a noise today it made 1 exsplosion today and sounded like a shotgun when't out the back tailpipe "louder than backfire in the 5800 and up rpm's older problem" and then it kept not starting. And it has been siting in the driveway for almost a month.https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/ar.gif

well i guess your fuel pump could be forcing to much fuel through because if its making a shot gun sound i would think thats something to check its better than watching your car get more ruined

txkillab 09-14-2003 08:15 PM

Thx!

txkillab 09-14-2003 08:20 PM

its got a rebulit engen i was told when i bought it, with about 17000miles on the motor and 186000 one the dash

4RotorRocket 09-14-2003 08:26 PM

Dont believe everything you hear the TII I bought is said to have a rebuilt J-Spec motor with 35,000 to 40,000 miles on it 155,000ish on the dash.Im stressing to do a rebuild just for safe measure. These guys could of made this **** up.

Travisty 09-14-2003 08:34 PM

well i had the same problem once.

my car made the shotgun noise and died.

towed it home.

it wouldnt start but when cranking it would do the same exact thing you said, lots of gas and every now and then it would make a ridiculously loud bang.

turns out i blew an apex seal.

whoopee.

i am just saying be careful.

do you have a good rotary shop around that you could take it to and ask their opinion?

txkillab 09-14-2003 09:35 PM

if its got a blown apex seal im gonna have to sell it damn it! that will suck. it would cost to much to take engen out replace seals and I should just rebuild the whole thing if im gonna do the rotor seals u would need to take the whole thing apart to get to the rotor's anyway how much could i get for the core i bet it was overhaled but the rotors were just kept how they were... any segestions otherwise ill have alot of parts or a car to get rid of https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif

First things first my friend,

Check your fuses...ALL of them

Check compression (do a search there are about 200 topics about this)

If compression is good check for fuel. remove the line from the fuel filter and turn the key to the on position and have a second person see if the line is moving fuel, should not take more than a few seconds to see a good stream of fuel

Next if we have fuel present, check for spark.

If any of these procedures are unfamiliar to you, then I suggest you get a Haynes or Chiltons manula for the car and start reading. If you do not have a compression tester , most major automotive chain parts stores have them to rent.

Then come back and let us know your findings. It is a lot easier to troubleshoot when it is a specific problem than a general one like "Won't start"

txkillab 09-15-2003 08:50 PM

ok thx ill do all of that they have it for rent how much u think?
