This my friend is a dashpot, you mean my flames are going to get BIGGER? Oh, hell yeah, cya in hell dashpot! i need it to shoot flames when im waiting in traffic and some punk ass gets too close to me. heh..50 bucks says first ricer i race, will think the flames are my NAWZZ!

When the dashpot is seized it can **** up idle speed too. But if you have cat converters its not a good idea to remove it.

Apex13B 11-26-2003 09:48 PM

no dash pot results in what is called an "over-run fuel" situation, totally harmless and fire = teh good.

Is there anything else i can ditch off my TB. If i dont plan on puttin cruise control back in, can i get rid of all these springs and such that are on the firewall side of the TB? Im assuming, this device that looks like a second dashpot thats on the non-firewall side is the thermowax? Has a tube connecting it to near the coolant hose connects? Bah, i will picture it....

That's a Turbo TB, so I'm not sure, but I think you can remove everythnig you've indicated. All you need is the half-moon that the throttle cable controls, and the linkage between the upper and lower butterflies. The thermowax, dashpots, secondary butterflies (the ones that are nearer to the airbox) all of that can be removed.

Rememeber, you MUST seal any holes that you make, TIG welded is best. Otherwise, you're introducing non-metered air and it'll run like ****.
