okay, so its maybe been 1000 mi since my last oil change, and every time i check it, the oil is much darker than when it went in.

on my mom's 86 NA, the oil looks as clean as when it went in, although she drives it much easier.

HOW BAD IS THIS? because, honestly, i'm quite scared. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif

my engine was just rebuilt last summer, and the warrenty only lasts a year.

Don't worry about it.. its gets dirt after a while even on new engines.. Thats just been my experience tho..

I am not exactly sure what it could mean but just to say, mine stays as clean at 3000 miles for the next change as it did when it went in. Well maybe slightly darker but no where near making me scared. It comes out of the pan clean also. I change it every 3000 with a new filter. I use Purolator One filters with Valvoline oil. I have always used Valvoline since the first day I got the car in 1987. That is what came in it so that is what I have always used. Creature of habit I guess.

Engine was rebuilt within the last 6 months and knock on wood I have not had any problems with the oil.

I would go and buy a case of cheap oil, do 2 oil and filter changes 500

miles apart from each other and see if it clears up the oil a bit.

I used to do this when I bought a used car except I would do 4-5 oil changes a few hundred miles apart, and after that the oil stayed

clean and pretty. It was nice when I didnt have to pay for oil and

used the lift.

the turbo cars are harder on the oil than the na's

If I remember right heat has something to do with the color of the oil

Also, remember that some oil remains in the oil cooler and doesn't get drained out with the rest of the oil.
