I would like to fabricate a custom pod for a video screen or gauges where the dummy lights currently sit. Has anyone done this before? What is the best material to use? I'm thinking aluminum or maybe some sort of plastic. What is the easiest material to work with? Any suggestions or input would be helpful.

plastic is pretty easy to use but why put it in the idiot lights spot?

why put it in the idiot lights spot?

Well, I have both DIN slots in the radio area used. I would like to keep the heater controls and vent where they currently are. My S-AFC II is going into the ash tray. On my old NSX I had a video monitor pod from Japan in the same area and enjoyed it there. The idiot lights are not very useful to me. I believe the only actual use for the is to read the morse code for the engine codes. With the gauges and such that I am putting in, I can get by without them. Any better placement options for a video monitor? I am open to any suggestions or comments.

Also, does anyone have a web site for me to research working with carbon fiber? Or even the vest place to purchase it from.

Thanks.

just do it from F/G or plastic to make it easy.

although if you are putting a video screen in a 2 seater car im guessing your

a person who likes to be flashy, lol. With a video screen in there the only way to tell its sitting in a CF housing is looking from the outside in

google.com can give you hundreds of sites with write ups on working with CF, im kind of tired of writing these long posts just to have no response or to get a "sounds like alot of work, forget it" response. Basically you need to either make a fast mold or cold mold it using CF cloth and epoxy resins, some sanding and polishing, some body filler work.... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683827.gif
