I got a few questions for anyone who’s got answers...



Firstly I got a '91 RX7 Turbo II Infini 3, and I've been driven it for a few months... It's completely stock accept for a k&n filter, aftermarket stereo and security.



1. It recently flooded. Can someone give me a step-by-step on how to get it running again?



2. It doesn’t generally start smoothly when I turn over the ignition. (it generally sounds like its trying... and stays that way till I give it gas) I brought it to Mazda and they claim there’s no problem with it.



Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this?



3. I'm new to rotaries. Does anyone have any general tips as to things I can do to keep my engine "happy"?





Any suggestions you can think of would really help me on this...

The quick way is to pull the EGI INJ fuse under the hood, crank the motor a few times, put the fuse back in, and try to start to the car.

Well I'm in Canada so it reads as 177 000 kilometers (around 110000 miles).



Bought from origonal owner, an elementary school principal (female), who babied it the entire time she had it.



The people at the Mazda dealership claim to have "not seen a '91 in that good shape for a long time".



The more I read, I seem to think more and more that the problem has to do with my seals as I doubt they have had any kind of re-lubrication treatment in the past.....



You think this could be the case ?



Also, I've read a few procedures that involve putting Automatic Transmition Fluid directly into the lower spark plug holes.... is this rumer or should I actually consider doing this?

Definitely do more than just consider it. Do it! It is a widely accepted procedure and from what I've heard it definitely helps- If you cant tear down your motor right away to replace the seals you may as well try to recondition them. It cant really hurt and the worst that can happen is that your plugs will foul- always try to keep a set from tune-ups ready for just this purpose.

Do you think the fact that the engine doesn't fire right away (until you give it gas) has anything to do with the seals being unconditioned... ?
