Unhappy

Now soon I'm hoping to buy an RX-7. Thing is I probably will attempt my first ever engine rebuild on this due to the lifetime of these engines. I was just wonering what prices I'm looking at for engine internals like seals, rotors, whatever else might get damaged, the main parts, and part that have to be replaced during a rebuild.

Exhaust:

I'm assuming the Turbo 2 (series 5) has a Cat.converter on it, before putting a nicer free flowing exhaust on it, do you guys take off the cat or can you leave it on? if you do take it off, what are the consequences, do it have aO2 sensor on it and stuff?? And how much BHP will u gain?

Intake:

Thinking of having a bit more air flowing in generally, or do i not have to bother thanks to the turbo? If i do, will i need to turn up fuel flow/pressure to avoid pre-detonation or can i simply adjust the timing a bit if so which way?

Thanks
