Hi guys, well I didn't ask about the Racing Beat header, because I live in MA. Our emission laws require we keep the Catalytic converter (at least the main one ) so I'm looking to buy a header to open on the restrictive stock piece. Has anyone noticed significant difference in performance from the two? I'll admit the quality of Corksport looks amazing.



If the price difference is justifiable I'll get the better header. But if not and the cheap one bolts up why not? :P

I know that the major restrictions in the system are both diameter, design and 2 pre cats. Both the Corksport and Pacesetter solve those issues. Will the Pacesetter do the job of getting those 10 clogged up ponies? (at the crank)

Do NOT buy the pacesetter. It will rust out in less than a year. They are notorious for doing that. Buy the other one if you need to.

I've never had any problems with corksport, even though I have no experience with their headers, their resonator (installed in place of the cat) is very well built and isn't showing any signs of excessive wear after 2 years of service. plus they were extremely knowledgeable and helpfull when I called with odd questions.



pace setter isnt a bad header, you just gotta send it in to a local performance shop and have it ceramic coated ($185.00) where as the racing beat header came ceramic coated.



the racing beat header fell an inch or two short of bolting on to the stock exhaust (when it was stock) on my 86. it wouldnt have been a problem except that when I pulled the stock manifold off I shot it (yup, shot it) so thats that, really made me mad though, it was a loud ass drive to the exhaust shop.

Im not sure how ofter you get emissions tested where you live but seroiusly in MD here its like every two years. PLENTY of time to install FULL open exhaust and just swap in your stock b.s. when emissions sends a notice. all it will cost is an afternoon of your time and a few gaskets... .02

oh btw. i used to have the pacesetter header on my old fc and unless they "redesigned it" IT does NOT bolt up to the stock cat. i had one two years ago .=

ive never had any pacesetter products rust in a year. matter of fact i had a set of pacesetter headers for two years on an old gxl and they looked near new when i pulled them off and i recently bought a project car that had a pacesetter exhaust on it for a few years and it looks in great shape. i think pacesetter is definetly cheaper quality than RB or corksport but its not TOTAL garbage lol https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif

Cool I thought I had seen some older posts that said it should bolt up. Maybe two versions? I guess I'll have to wait and see.
