I love the look of the new corksport fenders, plus the price isn't bad $375 for the pair. I think I'll pick up a pair when I get the whole type II kit.

kindof cool i might consider when i get the TypeII bumper as i will need new fenders anyhow since my car is an s4 and it won't fit right, but those fenders aren't really functional are they? just for looks, i mean what the hell would that do?

j9fd3s 12-10-2002 03:46 PM

well hopefully they are a little wider, so you can crap more tire under the front

thats what i was hoping.

The all new Cork Sport Wide-Body Fenders. These fenders not only reduce weight by the hand-laid quality fiberglass construction, but also add 30mm width of clearance to the wheel well. Also feature a stylish vent. OEM fitment.

:bigthumg: i might consider them then. I want to see what they look like painted on a car though 1st.

Without the vent it looks like a stock fender

Fiberglass or metal?

j9fd3s 12-10-2002 04:56 PM

the corksport ones are fiberglass

****, I can only imagine how bad they would look after one hot summer with a black car.

Cracks I can deal with and fix with ease, once a fiberglass part get some print-thru there is almost no way to keep it looking nice.

My friend with the Mustang who owns a body shop happens to sell alot of fiberglass hoods for those cars and he always keeps one in the paintbooth for a week or so to kind of pre-age the hood with the booth baking at 160 degrees or so and cooling off all the time.

j9fd3s 12-10-2002 05:52 PM

hmm interesting, so its like the solvent needs to evaporate fully?

In a way yes, and black fiberglass heats even more so it will get even more distorted.

j9fd3s 12-10-2002 06:30 PM

oh ok now i know what you're talking about

Notice anything similar?

ChainSawOnSteroids 12-10-2002 07:23 PM

****** people, always copy everything, i bet you can get those fenders cheaper of BN, why not just promote sales of others through yourself, why put somone elses stuff under your name https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif

Apex13B 12-10-2002 09:22 PM

what do you need fenders for?...it doesn't add velocity...save your money and goto skip barber racing school instead.

Apex13B 12-10-2002 09:22 PM

:rice:

1Revvin7 12-10-2002 10:15 PM

holy **** its even the exact same pic!!!!

Shane.Trammell 12-10-2002 10:25 PM

corksport copies all of thier stuff, thats why its cheaper. i know i would buy from them rather than get the border stuff. its all the same and less the half the price

Jerk_Racer 12-10-2002 11:35 PM

It is completely not ricey if you are using these to put wider wheels to get more rubber to the pavement. With these you can ride with up to 17x9.5 rims on all four corners with 265/40's wrapped around them. More tire is better. Or would somebody argue that the 185's on a base model '86 be better?

BTW, Skip Barber can go fudge himself with the prices charged for that school. Look for a local race club that offers performance driving schools. They're much less expensive and the instructors know their stuff as much as any instructor at Skip Barber (or any other big name, big dollar) school.

Shane.Trammell 12-10-2002 11:39 PM

but its not skip barber. you can get the same quality shoes at payless but you get the air jordans bc they are air jordans.
