Does that corksport exhaust include the piping after the cat and is it loud??? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif

VEERY LOUD, Just because its cheap and shiney does not make it a good exhaust

mazdaspeed101 12-10-2002 08:10 AM

that is all i want is loud

would putting the down pipe make it louder or not really and that is just a single exhaust

Wait! Did I miss something? Cheap, shiny, and loud! It's all you could ask for in an exhaust! Are you losing your sense of reason?

But then again, my car is for use at the dragstrip and an occasional romp around town. Still, I'm happy with my Borla XR-1. It really is quieter than I thought it would be. But it's still pretty loud. As long as it doens't attract the attention of Johnny Law, then its quiet enough!

I gave up on trying to fix up my car to make it faster because it keeps breaking, plus I want a loud exhaust to piss of my neighbors

Hey I have the CS Exhaust...

It's really not loud at all on a Turbo, (read: LOUD on N/A) and it's a good build.

It's stainless instead of mild steel, there's no pre-silencer to interrupt flow,

and minimal bends. I am really happy with my CS, and I'd say if you're looking

at one, go for it.

I have a full 3" free flowing system with the CS catback exhaust on my '89 T2. I cut off the 2.5" section at the front of it to make it a true 3" setup. I use a RS*R frontpipe. It was louder than ****! You had to stand over 20' away to hold a conversation. Earplugs were a must. Then I put in a Magnaflow (part#12219 IIRC) as a presilencer. At idle it's very civil, but get on the gas and it'll make you deaf. I mean it's almost loud enough to be heard about a mile away behind me. These days I run with a bolt on silencer tip. Whisper quiet and still is pretty quick. If I want to haul balls all I have to do is pop it out.

It not cheap, it's inexpensive. Have you seen one in person? Very nice welds. I've had mine since they first started selling them. It's as free flowing as anything can be. But that canister doesn't do much for sound deadening. But other than that, it's as good as you can get for even twice the money.

The only other decent exhaust you can get for under $300 is the Dynomax Super Turbo cat back which is $289 at Summit. It's mild steel but is MUCH better than Pacesetter. I had that system on a previous 86 and it sounded great with stock cat and a header. After about one year, the rust was very minimal. I'd say if you want inexpensive single, go with CS and for dual, go with the Dynomax.

On a N/A a loud exaust is pointless, performance isnt increased, all you are doing is pissing people off, and trust me you will grow very tired of the loud exaust. Girls DO NOT dig a exaust that rattles the car either, unless you have some real power to back it up ( I only say that because some guys thing girls like a loud car ).

And say goodbye to your car stereo as it will be very hard to hear as well.

1Revvin7 12-10-2002 04:47 PM

yea loud gets old. I want quiet. I don't like everyone in a 10 mile radius to know i just punched it. But the power gains are noticeable with louder exhaust.

Maybe on a turbo, but on a N/A I think its a power gain in your head versus the seat of your pants. I added the converter this year, it quited the car up a bit and it runs identical to the way it used to, thing even passed inspection on its own.

there is a reason i have the racingbeat exhaust on my FD. who would think my FD has 500hp on it passing by it on the highway.... sleeper baby :bigok:

mazdaspeed101 12-11-2002 04:01 AM

I dont mind that it will be loud because I am not going to keep it much longer, too much work and money. I am going to sell it soon along with my n/a 7

Apex13B 12-11-2002 10:42 PM

its 416 hp vosko.... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png (update your sig dammit) i also see no point in a loud exhast setup...more or less a mild steel system...buy a stainless system spend the money and its the last system you will ever need preferably the Racingbeat one (its looks badass too)
