well my water temp tends to read at 210 and I'm guessing that not good. I'm thinking about putting in a Koyo radiator or fluidyne not sure whats better. I'm thinking on getting a e-fan but not sure. I'm leaning towards perma-cool 16". Does this sound good? how hot should an 88 turbo run? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif

It shouldn't run 210. That is too high.
First off try replacing the thermostat with an OEM Mazda Thermostat. Second, how is your oil pressure? Keep in mind rotary engines oil cooling is just as essential as water cooling. How is your oil cooler? Perhaps your oil bypass valve in the e-shaft failed? How long has it been doing this? |
thermostat! and do you have the black plastic undertray? it works
|
i dont know much about cars but i was leaking oil from my oil pan could that have affected my temp and do i need an thermostat when i have a autometer water gauge. I think my oil pressure is correct. I just bought the car around two weeks ago so i dont know. i think the 210 reading is correct because i touched my hood that it was hot. I will try and check the oil stuff.

did you take your fan shroud off? it's necessary

I'll hit 210 every now and then but normaly not over 200.
I would start by changing your thermostat with a new mazda one. and change the coolant. and maybe the rad cap. don't bother with an e-fan. |
well my fan is still on i guess i'm going to buy a thermostat

A radiator will not really change your temps, granted the mazda rad's were crappy coming off the factory floor, but it is a good idea to upgrade it only when needed. Good luck, and watch out for coolant sprays from that thermostat. Can't beat that sweet smell. |
