Just got car running again today. Same problem as before though. Car runs fine, but after maybe 10 minutes of driving, or even just 1 mile on the road car is already overheating. Seems as if my coolant isn't flowing through the coolant system at all. Changed water pump, bled cloolant system, replaced thermostat. AM I MISSING SOMETHING??? What can I do to fix this problem ASAP. Would putting a different radiator in it help me any. I have 2 FC's and one is in the surgery room right now completely stripped down. What should I DO???

Yeah, sound like it could be a blown coolant seal, which would require a complete teardown and rebuild. Start the car(when its cool) with the rad. cap off, and if the coolant is bubbling or surging out of the rad, that is usually a good sign that a seal(s) is bad. Also try a coolant system pressure test. If a seal is bad coolant will leak right into the combustion chamber.

it doesn't act like a coolant seal problem, thats whats wrong with my other FC and it isn't doing the same thing. it seems like its just clogged up somehow and isn't flowing, thanx for the response though, i really need to figure this out

darn, i was hoping it was an easy (inexpensive) problem, teardown and rebuild isn't worth it for a second FC, i'm currently rebuilding my original FC because of a blown coolant seal, maybe i'll try the coolant seal fix-up instead of the rebuild on this one

You may want to flush the rad out, that might help some. Take it somewhere to get it professionally done. That may or may not be a problem, if you have not gone through it.

I'm just wondering, could my oil pump have possibly gone out? Coolant flow is fine, no blocks in the cooling system, I'm wondering if the oil could be not flowing, it seems as if the oil is getting VERY hot and possibly even be breaking down. I really don't think its my coolant seal or anything in my coolant system, just my oil isn't getting in the motor to help cool it off.

there is a thermostat in the oil cooler, 89rag's went bad, maybe yours did too?

ok, how do i get it out of the oil cooler, and can i pick one up at advanced auto, or do i have to order it?
