The forum was down for a little while so I didn't get to put these pics up, but I thought I would share. We usually have cookouts at my place during the summer. Nothing big, but its nice to get the rotaries around (my poor FC is in the garage ripped apart so no pics of her, lol)...
Anybody in the northern VA area who likes hamburgers and rotaries is more then welcome to join... It's my buddies' FC (one320fb on here) and RX8 GT (not sure if he's still on the boards or not)... Pretty funny to see them together, I still like the FC body more... maybe not more than my old rx8 mazdaspeed (mmm..mazdaspeed) but still classic. |
Damn who owns that nice ass FC https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif I think that RX-8 red would look great on my car. And I would leave the hood black or maybe one day get a decent CF.

Nice cars!
NOVA, eh? I'm in Richmond area. Got a couple friends up that way that I hardly ever see anymore, one in Fairfax and one in Leesburg, and oh yeah, another one in Mount Vernon. Haven't seen him in a dog's age. |
You should head up this way one weekend! The cook-outs are near Chantilly until Billy (one320b) moves at the end of the year. It would be cool to get some more 7s together!
|
Yea - leesburg is only 15 minutes or so from me depending on traffic, etc.....
After I move I should still be in the NOVA "area" just not sure where yet. Hopefully in a single family home with plenty of parking and more yard for the rx guys... My sister lives in richmond, the museum district - I have only seen a black FD down there, not much on rotary i guess. |

That's a nice area. I used to live near there a long time ago. There are quite a few FC's around here, but some of those are V8's. FD's I never see around here. FB's I see sitting in backyards everywhere. I keep telling the wife we should get one. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif |

Lol, backyard FBs are everywhere - very true, where do you think I get mine from? Never paid more than $500 for one...

are they "just sitting" or are they "sitting and for sale"? if they are for sale, then it looks like i need to bring a couple hundred bucks with me the next time i go to DC and make some time to cruise NoVA. any particular areas? |
Most of the ones I saw in the backyards weren't advertised as being for sale - I'd just roll by and if I saw the owner outside i'd pull over and ask.
I used to work for Mazda as well and one customer who was buying a new shinka Rx8 for her husband GAVE me two FBs. One had a ported engine and was pretty well worked over (they were PR too - so i'm sure it was a crazy port https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR ) but after her husband worked on it - it was stolen, then recovered but the cops smashed it up when they recovered it by accident. Her husband then got a donor body to swap everything over, but instead - she bought him the shinka. Sadly though, timing didnt work out and I couldnt get access to a trailer to get them in time - so i let it go.. deals come and go all the time, you just have to be ready for them... As for cruising in NOVA, there is the Dulles meet where RX guys sometimes meet up (mostly a lot of old classics).. fun drives would be out in western loudoun for fun, or for cruising down the cities...anywhere in fairfax really, lol... |
