UniqueTII's Story Part II:
OK so we get it back together (Well he did, I was at a rod show) and it seems to have more power, but not as much as it seemed to have before. Drove it around for a bit and I felt the coolant hoses going to the BAC valve and they were not even close to hot. The rest of the coolant hoses were too hot to touch but... Pulled the line off the front of the BAC and it spit water out of the hose but not the valve. This doesn't seem right for some reason, on my NA the valve gets hot after a drive around the block. I've bypassed the valve before on an NA with no real nasty affects can you do it on a TII? Worried about the coolant line under the manifold being kinked. |
I like to bypass the lines. I never had any ill effects from doing that.

Well we discovered it was way down on coolant and filled it up. Runs mucho better! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png
Now the downside.. It's blowing oil smoke. Too much of it. :( |

Yeah it always blew a bit of smoke, now it's starting to make an art form of it. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png
I was driving it, did a quick shift from 1st to 2nd and there was a lovely smoke cloud behind it. I think they're jussst about shot. Still pulls pretty strong tho, wonder if he'd mind driving around with a smoke screen? We could install a remote oil sump! *is really really gonna get it for that last remark * |
cough*jspec $650*cough. i get a little smoke from mine but it could be too much gas or the turbo going it had a little play. i found a gas tank for mine $50 pickedup !!
|
$650 jspec from where? I'm interested, but not until November or so.

I always use the trunks of cars to transport motors. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png |
How much does a 13BT longblock weigh? I wonder if my car could handle it for the 1000 mile drive. Also, would my Jspec be complete or would I need stuff off of this engine?

I've got this Ford Explorer Sport Trac just sitting there, minding it's own buisness. Yup, not used very often. Pulled an RX-7 up a hill once.
Yup just sitting there. Man wish I could use it to haul something worth while. Sigh. . . . |
Drive me out to NJ to pick up an engine. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png
So, you up for an engine swap over the winter, John? Pretty please with boost on top? |
In case anyone cares, my car is running great and only smokes as much/little as it used to. The tranny is grinding like crazy, though.
