Don't gut the cats, spend the $200 for a down pipe and a mid-pipe. Then you can still use your cats to pass emissions.
And, I can completely remove the air pump without modifying anything else? |

I am also having nine kinds of hell replacing the power antenna. I have the new one but how do you rewind the cord back into the motor? I have a RX7 repair manual and it does not even mention how to replace the antenna mast. Now I have parts everywhere and a graphite mess, this is pissin me off.

I had to order one from a dealer. I was cheaper than I could find one at a salvage. I have the anteanna in now and it works fine. Now I want to take out all the oem air intake system. Will this affect the car or other accessories if I remove the air pump? I know that it will reduce the drag on the engine becasue that is one less thing to turn, what negative things do I need to expect?

cancel that, that thread sucks...there was a lengthy one someone around here.... |
Removing the air pump on your s4 won't affect anything negatively except maybe the water pump/fan pulley slipping a bit due to you just having the one belt on it. You may want to get also a dual alternator pulley so you can have two belts spinning the water pump pulley. BanzaiToyota sells them for I think $20.

Cool, thanks. I am planning on doing the intake swap this weekend and hope to get at least a good cat-back in the next couple of weeks. When the weather warms up I am going to start fixing the body, several scratches and dings, and then fresh paint.
