There are a variety of intakes availible for our cars and I'm interested to know whether or not brand/price makes a bit of difference...

Apexi-$200??

Blitz-$150

K&N- $55

Ractive-$30

APC-$25

I'm specifically interested in these...

Thanks

Honestly, I hate APC, but its your best bet. They all perform w/in a fraction of HP gains of each other and its a difference in name & money...go for the cheaper one...

buy the hks filter adaptor and you can run any cone filter.

i had the hks filter on my car for about a year, no problems

I have an APC on my car, which replaced the HKS. It sounds like a downgrade, but it keeps my AFM clean and looks better.

OKIERX-7 09-13-2002 01:09 PM

Hilarious. I was looking at the APC and the Ractive one yesterday and was wondering if those were worth a damn.

Well, thanks for the input. I guess I'm gonna be part of the APC ricer.. oops... APC racing team.

I was checking out the K&N but it looks really small.. I dunno

bigtime 09-13-2002 01:28 PM

i have hks intake...

OKIERX-7 09-13-2002 02:21 PM

So how do you like the Ractive, Vosko?

Compared to the Bonez(K&N)?

dysthymia 09-13-2002 08:52 PM

I don't remember where I read the review, but the Apex'i intake had the best performance and the cleanest filtration compared to a K&N, a Blitz, and some other brand. Rotormotorsports carries them for 145, not 200 like you say in your post.

yeah, $20 ghetto ricer intake here, hey, it works just as well as the $200 one, so who cares?

ultradef 09-14-2002 11:21 AM

Have any of you with the HKS had any problem with the foam breaking off or anything? I heard that is a problem with the HKS filters... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/blink.png

OKIERX-7 09-14-2002 03:29 PM

yeah I made a similiar custom intake... Its prety awesome, got rid of a lot of my turbo lag

vosko 09-14-2002 03:42 PM

I pulled the K&N off my vert and put it on the AE, it might just be the crack, but the car felt faster after that. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png Now I'm making a TID for it.
