What kinda clutch would be good to get for my turbo 2, that aint to expensive but not the stock clutch. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif

The Bonez competition clutch, i've heard is good. It depends on how much HP you got. I used to have a Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch, back wehn i had 207@ the wheels and 199 Ft/Tq. It never slipped and held up for 1.98 60' times. It isn't stiff at all. A littel over stock, but barely.

I heard great things about ACT s/s. I heard bad things about Centerforce.
I just got an ACT s/s with a HD PP, I cant comment on it yet since I have only had it for 250 miles. But so far I really like the feel over stock. |
ACT rules, is affordable, tough and give you a positive feeling of what is doing.
I've had 3 centerforces and they all sucked. I should of stopped on the second one. They basically self destruct on me. |
i have act s/s. through-out bearing failed so i am getting that replaced other than that no complaints.
|
AP racing now makes street clutches https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png....no **** go with the ACT clutch setup
|
I just got my ACT S/S 6 PUCK copper from rx7trix.com for 290. Its a complete kit and they got great service, highly recommend.
|
I am going with an ACT S/S and lightweight flywheel over the winter (hey, that's now https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR) when I get my tranny rebuilt...I have heard only good things about them.
|
I think I am going to get a centerforce clutch the one that is just above stock, my car is mostly stock though so It should be alright
|
I heard nothing good about them.My cousin has a supercharged civic and they told him 90% more holding power than stock and 1.5 months later it's slipping. And thats at 7 psi.Centerforce is a joke for the money.I'd say go with Racing Beat or even a ACT on it before centerforce.

DO NOT get a centerforce clutch..please for gods sake |
My came with a CFDF and I didn't know it until I replaced it. I always hated the way it felt. If felt soft and had a non-linear action that never set well with me. It wasn't slipping or anything, I just thought it was a crummy stock setup and I wanted something better. I got the SR Racing internet package with the 9.5# over a year ago and couldn't be happier. It's been taking all the abuse that I can toss at it. Just for the clutch, it's not that expensive. It has good feel. It'll last you for a very, very long time at lower hp levels.

i dont like copper clutches on the street, i have one in the 20b and its going to get replaced with an organic disc
mike |
I have the stock clutch https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png We shall see how long that lasts
|

honestly..i see no point in getting a gorilla puck clutch for a streetcar unless you have 500hp+500shot n20

puck clutches are for drag/road course racing. They are made from sintered copper (do YOU know what that is? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub... ). their engagement is on/off....
i dont know what i'm doing...i work here i'm all the way to the right in the group photo  https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif  |

i drove my TII for so long with the act extreme and 6puck. it was completely fine for daily driving and stop and go traffic. maybe i'm insane but i love how hard it gripped!!!!!!!!!! :wiggle:

******* chatter puck clutch.....from my experience. You drag racers are weird
i just think that it will grab too hard and put too much thrust force on the motor...i have seen idiots put 4 plate carbon clutches on 400hp motors and it ******* roots the motor A hard grabbing clutch will want to pull the e-shaft through the motor (from a physics stand point, math is fun). I also have seen puck clutches do this also not all of us have the time/money to pull a motor every 30,000 miles ok...im not saying that anybody is wrong or stupid so chill the **** out ppl..i'm just busting your balls https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif so please let me know that im ******* stupid again https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/moon.gif |
how is the pedal pressure on the ACT SS compared to stock? I used to have a ACT on my Integra and was pretty pleased w/ it, probably will put one on my TII. If it's the same as it was on my integra, pedal pressure about doubles, with a much faster catch.
|
The pedal press is a little firmer. Its about 20-30% more work. Its really nice IMO
