For some reason yesterday my clutch became soft and it fell to the carpet. It starts and runs still but I cant get it into gear. I checked the resevoir and it was full of Dot 3 fluid. Why is this?

I cant even pump the clutch for pressure. It wont work at all. I was wonderring if anybody had some advice as to what I should do. Do i need a completely new master and slave cylinder?

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks.

Do yourself a favor. Replace both the Master and Slave cylinder. If one has gone bad the other is not too far behind. This way your done with this problem and you will not be stuck again.

Is there any brake fluid on top of the trans, on the firewall, or under the carpet near the clutch pedal?

No there is no fluid anywhere in the car, but of course there was some leaked under the car. But the reservoir is still full.

And how/where would I bleed it?
