I think my 3rd member bushings are shot, all i need to do is get under the car and poke around but my question is this. If that is my problem should i go with stock replacments or should i go with the stiffer type. No mods have been done to the car but i enjoy the saturday morning auto cross and i dont hold back.

Give me your input.

i was looking at this and this

most likely the diff mount is broken, but not those bushings you linked to. The front mount on the snout of the diff.

Honesly, i think the super solid diff mounts are a waste of money. And for a street car, you don't want all the drivetrain noise transmitted back through the body anyway.

I'll try to get under there this weekend. If what ever you said is indeed broken is it an easy fix, just by reading that it sounds like the diff housing might be broken... It clunks on and off the throttle, between gears, etc...

I believe he's referring to the front differential mount. Check out mazdatrix, the first 2 parts on this page. The "competition" mount is $61 less than the stock unit.

Replacement would probably involve loosening the rear subframe to lower it a bit, to access the diff mount (which is on top of the rear subframe, bolts to the side of the diff housing).

Agree. The mount ALREADY breaks sometimes with the stock bushing. Wouldn't you rather have it break the bushing instead of the mount itself?
