Ok, well as some of you know, i have just purchased a 1987 Turbo II and its got some issues but nothing life or death.

Im replacing the motor mounts on wensday night, hoping to stop alot of the vibration im getting through the car. If that dosent work i will be looking at getting a new driveshaft.

Now my question is, then engine bay is quite dirty in comparison to the reast of the car which is SPOTLESS!!!

There is a black residue on the hood above the engine, the aluminum looks to be oxodized, and its just generaly dirty.

Is it ok to use a foaming engine cleaner on the engine bay and rinse it off? Or should i do this all by hand?

Also, what products woudl be good to use on the engine and surounding areas?

what i do is i disconnect my battery (my bat is in rear bin but doesnt matter if it gets wet anyway) so there is no electircity in the car... then spray simple green all over the bay, use a scrub brush for the hard to get places..... then pressure wash the rest of the crap off... go back and let everything dry, or even use compressed air to help dry it faster.... only prob i had was i didnt dry the window washer motor switch out enough and they didnt work after i washed the bay.... after a day of drying it worked again... i dont know why our cars are so picky sometimes cause my old truck i would just blast the fucker and no problems

Make sure you tape up all the electrical **** up, ie coils, alt, sensors, ect, then spray away.
