Does anyone have good ideas on cleaning the engine and the bay I don't want to be able to eat off of it or anything but clean it and make it look nice enough to take pictures of it.https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

degreaser---> steam clean---->armoral

Steam clean huh? that sounds like a good idea. But i wonder how that will affect my paint. Can't be worse than the heat produced by the engine right?

Did you rent a steamer or something?

or did you have one of those infomercial ones?

Lucky you how long did it take you when you did it and how clean was it after.

HAve you ever sprayed it with WD40 to make it look nice.

I have and it looks good but a friend of mine took it one step further and sprayed clear coat enamel and it always looks clean and makes it a lil easier to clean after. i just need to cover my carb before i do it.

we steam clean the car top to bottom, it makes a huge difference.

you want to use good soap, and hot water (a regular pressure washer hooked up to the water heater/ hot water works great)

I usually just throw on some simple green and spray with high pressure water. Seems to work pretty well. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

simple green might be easier for me to get than a steamer i think.

A normal pressure washer will be fine. Just get some good de-greaser. Make sure the engine is cool when you do it. Then right after you wash it down, start the engine up. It might take you 2 times to get everything clean the way you want it. Get a sponge and after you spray the degreaser on, use the sponge wherever you can to loosen the dirt before you pressure wash it, maybe wear some gloves when you do this, but they will probably end up getting ripped on something anyhow. When you are all done, FANTISTIC works as good as anything I have seen to remove any other dirt from the painted areas of the car, just spray it on and wipe it off with a rag. A little work and the results will be great. By the way, a pressure washer from 1100-1500psi will work just fine, anything more might take things off the car you dont want off.
