Lowest I have found recently is $84 from mazdatrix. I could have swore I saw them in the $60 price range on some site before.

FCmaniac 11-28-2003 05:51 PM

I'm pretty sure those Mazdatrix DOT ones are the cheapest

out of curiosity, how hard is it to put the Ss lines in, everywhere I go they always say have them installed by a "competent mechanic" is it something that should not be attempted by a do it yourselfer??? whats the deal?

1Revvin7 11-30-2003 12:38 AM

They look super easy to do.

Leetheslacker 11-30-2003 12:40 AM

only "tricks" with them is to take them out of the package, let them

straighten out from being in the package ( unless they come straight )

install them making sure they are routed correctly

and to properly bleed the system after.

the hardest part, which isnt so hard, is to make sure to bleed the system

correctly. And on a older car, the trick would be to make sure the bleeder

screws turn, I would go under there with some PB Blast or similar product

a few days before and spray down the bleeder screws.

to add to rob's points....you dont want the brake like rubbing a tire, or crimping up when your suspension moves do you?

teknics 12-02-2003 11:29 AM

and also, please have the proper tools for the job, stripping a brake fitting using normal wrenches sucks big time. they sell individual flare nut wrenches at strauss auto if you dont want to byu a whole set, but the wrenches do come in handy in more then one situation.

that would be where i said to make sure they are routed correctly, but

its good to point out why.

I only stock the 3rd gen lines, but $60 is way below my cost.

gdnimr0d 12-09-2003 10:25 PM

EBAY buy them from there haha

wanksta 12-10-2003 11:48 AM

Yeah, watch out for rubbing. I suppose while the car is on jackstands you could jack up the wheel to the point it is at its bump stop. See what the posistion of the hose is then?
