Changed mine 6 times last Friday / Saturday. Damn things. That oil pipe is HOT.

Does anyone have good pictures of plugs that need to be changed? Last year I changed mine a couple times and I'm wondering if I was doing it too soon.

well, a quick rundown..

white tips = lean

black power tips = really rich!

damaged tips = obvious

there are alot more 'looks' but i only know the basic 'looks' of when a plug comes out.

rule of thumb. its 'usually' safe ® to run alittle rich, lol

I was talking about wear. When are they worn down to the point they should be changed.

If you are changing plugs because you see you are running lean, you're in for a world of hurt! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

I just changed mine about an hour ago. A whole lot easier then I thought it would be but still harder then my Straight four 4runner https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png Anyway it made a world of difference. The pevious owner probably hasn't changed them since he rebuilt the motor. The electrodes were almost non-existant. Car drives awesome now!
