My catalytic converter has a massive hole in it and i am looking for a replacement. I live in eastern washington where the emission standards aren't strict. My options are an oem replacement, high flow cat, or straight pipe. What do you suggest and why? Thanks

Want to keep the car as stock and quiet as possible? OEM Replacement



Want a little extra power at the cost of replacing the cat a bit more frequently (I've heard that this option only lasts about 2 years)? High Flow Cat



Don't care about emmissions or noise at all? Test Pipe

yep, id go for a high flow/aftermarket. if you want the rest of the time run an open pipe

If you want it loud go straigt, if you want it somewhat quiet, get a cat.

I dont mind noise, i am trying to make a little power here and there. I have an aftermarket catback exhaust and a rotten catalytic converter seemed to be robbing it of some airflow, so straight pipe is the way to go?

Depending on you engine setup, yes. I have a RB header, 3 inch donkey dick pipe to two three inch magnaflows single out the drivers side of the car.

a new high flow converter will flow just fine, for the 3hp or so difference go with the converter, your clothes, nose, and eyes will thank you

Yeah, I'm in the same boat, apparently mine have been getting clogged up (I can't wait to see the difference) so I just got a straight pipe for now - I'll be going with Racing Beat because I know how loud it'll be.
