Okay, so I ran a Carfax report on my car. Good news is the title is 100% clean (as I figured when I inspected the car top to bottom before purchasing- something everyone should do!)
Now, I also found out that according to my VIN, I own a Turbo II!? What I need to know is if there's a way to distinguish if it is indeed a TII. Exterior-wise it's got a Base model hood, no spoiler, and it's 4-lug. The motor was converted with a Racing Beat carb kit, and the wiring harness has had some extensive cutting and splicing. There's no odd change in mileage in the report to justify a replaced motor. If anyone can give me something to look for on the engine, transmission, inside the car etc. to verify what model it began life as I'd GREATLY appreciate it!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683894.gif Thanks Everyone! -Jin |
you dont have a TII unless someone went to PAINSTAKING details to remove everything TII
the wiring is cut because its now a carb and I would bet there is no more emissions, no one in thier right mind would swap the suspension from a TII to the base model |
WTF? That is ODD. I agree with Rob.

or your car is stolen and they swapped vin plates.

I carfaxed mine a while ago, it was sold new in Charlotte, North Carolina, then re-registered in Texas with the same owner then sold in L.A and shipped up to my neck of the woods in '98 when I bought it, pretty cool to find out it was a one owner car, basically.

my old pos had like 7 owners in the tri-state area.
Our cars must be related or something. I'm the 2nd owner; it was bought new off the lot in South Carolina. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/cool.png Btw, Kevin the VIN matches everywhere on the car. Dash, plate, firewall, door sticker.. |
my car had like 3 previous owners, bought in cali stayed there for like 10 years, then sold to texas stayed there until 2003 when i bought it.
i love the fact its rust free go texas and cali. even tho the sun made my dash do weird things, it bubled up and like bleeds or cries whatever you wanna consider it. kevin. |
I have 2 cars, one of them my RX7 that the Carfax report contains a few errors, its not fool proof, especially on older cars.
