i am wanting to port my s4 n/a engine. but of course the sleeves in the exhaust ports get in the way of that. i was watching the turrentine rebuild video and i think he mentions them as roll pins, anyway he said that these diffusers can be removed if pins were taken out... i looked at them and i have no idea to go about that. i have also read that you basically just have to grind them out???

You might want to check the porting thread in Porting and Rebuilding.

I believe you just have to get the factory weld off and then you can slide them out. Never tried it but I am sure I read something about it somewhere.

I couldn't figure it out either looking at my spare housing. I think like you said you can just grind them out.

ito's stated method was to use a mig welder to extend the roll pin until you had something to grab onto with locking pliers.... it works since the housing is aluminum it will only weld to the pin if you use a low voltage setting.

Thats a damn good idea. Drilling them out is damn near impossible...
