Try unplugging the TPS and see how it runs.

It should try adjusting the TPS. But try cleaning up the TPS electrical connector, there's sometimes a bad connection there.

TPS=throttle position sensor. If you try adjusting it you may get lucky.

I have a different kinda idle problem. It will idle at like 1100-1300 r's (not flucuating). But if I keep my foot on the brake and let the clutch almost out to the point it is almost stalling and push it back in, idles right at 700 for the rest of the time my car is on. I know I need a clutch bad, but never heard of a clutch affecting idle. It is strange and just started happening after I did a state inspection and ran it on the dyno in march. Any clues??

For what it's worth, I never did really fix my idle problem. It kinda fixed itself. Sure, I tinkered with the TPS and looked for vacuum leaks, but it was still idling up at 1500 r's and then abruptly dropping to about 1300 and over and over about once per second. Then I took her out and wound her out a couple times and now she idles pretty smooth. I'm sure it'll give me some trouble again soon, but its okay now. The car had been sitting maybe a year or two. Might have been some squirrel left a nut someplace it shouldn't have been. :lachuh:

you should have seen how much dog food we found in my car.....then one day, i was starting the car and a mouse popped-up right next to me on the passenger side and went back under the carpet...i put a mouse trap and killed it the next day

Excellent! Another often overlooked way to reduce vehicle weight! :satisfied:

Why don't you check that TPS adjustment? It's easy, all you need is 2 small 12-volt lamps and you won't be wondering about this TPS adjustment anymore. Just plug them into the 'green' connector near the air box and follow the procedure in the factory manual in page 4A-50. You may also read this, the part that is talking about "Adjusting the GSL-SE Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)", that's the same process for other models anyway.
