capping heater outlet
I have capped the coolant outlet for the heater core. I drained the coolant system to tap and plug the outlet properly. When I pulled the cap off it was still under preasure. Does capping this leave me with a hot spot on the rear plate.

Re: capping heater outlet
no it does not seem to leave a hot spot. I'm still not sure why there was coolant left that high in the block after draining it but I'm over that.
drilling and tapping the nipple for a 3/8 pipe plug didn't work out very well for me. Maybe if I had used a better thread sealant. I had a persistant slow drip. I figured maybe a few more treads would help this attempt resulted in me loosening up the nipple which I removed. The hole is just a little on the small side for an 11/16 freeze plug cleaned the hole up with a sanding drum and tapped it in. no leak problem solved:eek3dance::eek3dance: |
