Hey the car sat for like 6 years and the moon roof is basicly baked shut so if you have any sugestions let me know i was just wondering if i could manualy push it open with out breaking anything.

Seppuku 06-07-2003 01:34 PM

well i wouldnt open it unless you want to risk it being stuck open.

1Revvin7 06-07-2003 01:50 PM

can you push it open as you hit the button?

Does the motor make any noise? Try opening it manually with an allen key through the hole in the roof.

Yes i can hear the motor thing running but i am afraid to open it by hand with out breaking anything you mentioned an allen key.... is there any manual openers like the head lights that i can do ?

pengaru 06-07-2003 03:22 PM

yes... look on the ceiling behind the opening, theres a little cap... remove the cap and you'll find the manual interface for the thing.

push up at the back while holding the button down, the way it comes up is the back pops up first then it slides back, so it might just need assistance with getting past the static friction from sitting so long getting heat cycled and fused together.... it might get stuck but you can deal with that when it happens.

now it'll come open a little bit on one side and its stuck in one corner on the other side and we can't get anything to budge

You have to push the motor button and force it (easily) the way you want it to go. Lube up the tracks and keep moving it back and forth. I'm sure there's alot of **** caked up in there. There was in mine.

MazdaEnthused 06-07-2003 09:19 PM

ok well i'm gonna go back and try it i'm just afraid of pushing it off the tracks or somthing
