can my car still stop with out a a.b.s. pump? I hate a.b.s. and it's taking up so much valuable space!!! And I bet she's heavy! If so, what all do I have to do when I take it out to make the breaks work again?

Dragon has posted instructions on how to remove the ABS. I know it is in here somewhere. I am just not sure what section. Not to sound like the other forum, but search around, I know it's here.

Where is M'Town Iowa? Marshaltown? I went to ISU a few years back. Now in Missouri, I see you have a 2nd gen? My post was for a 3rd gen but I believe it is the same basic principle.

that's for 3rd gen's, are they the same for my '89 TII?
|
oh, there is the post I was looking for, you posted while I was writing, SILLY!!! It's rite down the road from ISU, about 35min east on hwy 30!15min in a TII ha ha.
|
yes Marshalltown

TII = Fast? HAhahahhhahaaa....... j/k
So you say 35 min? I didn't know it was so close. That means it's about 20 minutes from Nevada? Does Iowa ever have any RX7 get togethers? |
not that I know of. There aren't to many for us. It's pretty rare to see one on the road here. yeah, 20min exatly from Nevada!!!

as long as you put a brake balencer in between the rear brakes and the brake master cylinder you'll be fine. You will have to play around with getting the proper amont of brakes to the ass end. I'm running 315 Nitto's so I have added a lot of braking to the rear and my car stops way the hell faster now than when I had the ABS. If you don't put in the brake balencer and go 100% brakes to the rear you will lock the ass end up under hard braking and loose control of the car. This can cause injury or death.. :smirk: so be safe and make sure all your lines and fittings are done correctly and don't leak. This can also cause death or serious injury.. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png So make sure you do it right, brakes are not somthing you wanna **** up and not somthing you want to do the cheap easy way...
Now you need to reserch what you need to make it work, I would start with a brake balencer from summit racing and get the linlock line/fittings kit while your there. This should run you around $75 or so, I forgot the exact prices. You will also need to locate a flairing tool and a few pt's of DOT 3 or 4 brake fluid.. If you change over to DOT 4 I would recommend bleeding and purging the whole system of the DOT 3.. good luck! I'm sure you will be very happy with the results if you go threw with the swap and you usually run large sticky tires... Chris |
