So i have the basic w/ wiring, but u i have no experience w/ reading wiring scematics and have never wired anything big. How hard will it be to hook up my haltech? I think im getting the wiring harness that is already put together, not the one that u have to cut it all apart etc. Since im a newb. It's easy to wire up. You'll want to keep part of the old harness if you want the wipers, cruise control, and stock temperature gauge to work. Check out http://www.hitman.hm/haltech.htm .

It is pretty easy. I bought the fully terminated hardness, So things pretty much plugged in. You do need to mount a couple of sensors and the toughest one is probably the Throttle Position Sensor as there is no bracket.

Haltech has the flying lead and the terminated harness. Even with the terminated harness, you have to cut it to make it work with your stock componets like the CAS and coils. So is up to you. The terminated harness tends to be extra long so you are going to have extra harness around.



K2rd sells a adapter to use the haltech with the stock harness. Be warn, the stock harness is old and brittle, you are more likely to have electrical problem in the future.



If you have a series 5 engine you have to use premix cause the ecu doesn't control the OMP. Or go mechanical.

You do have to make cut some of your old wires as you mentioned at the CAS, But you put a connector on it and the Terminated harness then plugs right in. Same goes for the coils. All in all it's a pretty straight forward project. It does look rather intemidating, but take you time and double check your connections and it will work first time.

I kept the mazda plugs. I just cut off the harness side of the plugs to the cas and coil. In the future, if I have to quickly replace the CAS or coil, is a quick plug and play thing cause I reuse the mazda plugs. If you competely redo the plugs then everytime you want to plug in something you'll have to redo the plugs to that device if is stock.

the haltech is relatively simple to install..... although, like stated before, take your time and do everything right.... me and my father installed mine in a week... took about 36 hours of work time, but we took our time and made sure we did everything right.... it made it easier on us though because we were in a fully equiped shop and had everything we needed right there....



and for my TPS I did exactly what dac did, in fact, it looks identical to it... it seems to be the easiest way to solve the issue....
