I'm not really sure of what happened and how it happened, but I'd thought I try and ask the fellow Mazda/Rotary owners here if they can help me. I'd would really appreciate it.

So I recharged and converted my A/C from R12 to R134a and the A/C was all good and nothing was wrong until me and my friend one day going up that slope/hill by Mililani passing Fastop my A/C went from cold air to warm air. Another thing that happened is my dashboard clock went out also. Right now I'm thinking:

1. Fuses went out.

2. A/C compressor or whatever died.

Another thing that I thought that probably broke it was my friend. He broke off pieces of those car scent things and stuck them between my A/C vents. One piece fell so I thought maybe it clogged something and caused the A/C to die. If anyone can help, I (as said before) would really appreciate it.

On a side note, if it is a blown fuse, can someone tell me which fuse(s) it might be or be nice enough to show me a fuse box diagram?

id look for blown fuses first, the clock being off is a clue, i think. clock is on the 7.5 amp fuse thats kinda sticking out

I took the time to put in new fuses and it seems that it's still not working. I'll try to post up accurate information so I can be of more help to the problem. It's like the A/C is still trying to blow cold air, but it's just not doing it. Could my compressor gone bad? If so, then how come my dashboard clock when out just at the same time it did. I'm just puzzled.

is the compressor turning on?

teknics 05-08-2007 11:33 AM

how did you do the r12-r134a conversion? im assuming the ghetto way?

the right way is to replace, i believe, the receiver/dryer otherwise it gets clogged aka the same problem the previous owner of my n/a caused.

they actually recommend replacing the whole compressor too. shoulda just kept it r12.

Yes it does. It's like the A/C is half ass working, but not working at the same time. For my car it's like this:

1. Turn A/C on.

2. Revs go up a little.

3. Air Compressor starts doing its thing.

4. Air comes out but it's like warm.

Could the piece of scent thing my friend put in my air vents killed the compressor? Would also add that we went over a pretty big bump (like the size of your normal speed bump) on the road which made the Clock and A/C die. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/sad.gif

EDIT: Thanks for helping me man. Cause right now I'm majorly stumped.

the piece of scent thing wouldn't do anything except stinnk for a while.

it sounds to me like 2 possibilities.

A) low charge

B) clogged due to conversion method.

New discovery! I found out my power mirrors don't work as well. Someone I met today said I should check my relay fuses. The compressor is working fine, but I find it weird that my clock, power mirrors AND A/C died at the same time. Could the bump I went over broke something? The guy told me I should also check for loose wiring and whatnot. I appreciate the help guys! Thank you!

@ teknics: The A/C was working just fine, and it was working for a good 2-3 weeks before I went over that bump. So yeah, I dunno. >.<

teknics 05-09-2007 06:01 PM

power mirrors, clock and a/c?

theyre all on seperate fuses...but all on the driver's side harness.

im starting to guess bad ground?

Yeah, I don't know what to call it. Bad luck I guess? Would you happen to know where the bad grounding could be?
