Overall engine bay...little dirty, was outside too..so its a lil dark..but hey..u get the idea...

RX7_TT 03-04-2004 02:28 AM

WOW, there isn't much clutter in that engine bay. Very clean. Very nice. What turbo is that?

Yea..we need to finish cleaning up the wiring w/ some shrink tube or heat tubing, and the TMIC setup is temp for tuning purposes til custom FMIC setup coming shortly..but the car is pretty well tuned for the time being..gotta get some new fuel system stuff in and get the FMIC in and then more tuning and dyno runs.

Next pic...the garrett turbo he's using...4" inlet and 1.1AR(correct me if I'm wrong Jon..) peak PSI around 4400 RPM..

Its a Garrett M43. 1.11 exhaust and .65 compressor. No idea about the trim.

One of the wastegates hidden under the custom built turbo manifold...

That one is the Tial 38mm...I couldn't get my arm around the back of the manifold to get a pic of the second 35mm Turbonetics WG...sorry,lol...

roadkill669 03-04-2004 02:38 AM

Ignore the whole oily mess on the wastegate pic. New oil line fixed that, I just need to clean it now.

Do you know the max flow rate of that perticular turbo? Hows it for lag? Looks wuite big. It siad previously that you get full boost at 4400rpm, thats not to bad. Once again VERY nice setup you have there.

Lil interior pic of some of the guages...yea, for anybody going big, GET AN FPR GUAGE, for the love of god, lol. We have recently noticed that at anything over 12psi the FP drops 10psi and keeps falling...def time for a bigger fuel pump...

I dont know anything about the turbo. I have looked and nothing. All I know is that it was off an International 4700 Turbo Diesel.

Lag is pretty close to the stock turbo I think. Sitting and just revving the motor up to 7000, I get close to 8 psi. You can really hear the turbo sucking in air also. Plus the 3 1/2 inch exhaust allows you to hear the turbo really well through the exhaust.

I also forgot to mention that this is a ball bearing turbo also. Its great., I can have the car at an idle, turn the car off, then roll the windows up, lock the car up, do whatever, and the turbo still spins for about 40 seconds after I turn the car off. Its so great.

Last pic of his car...and no it's not a shameless plug..I SWEAR https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Ok..thats all I have on Roadkill's car..but I've got some pics of some 1am-2am thinking and boredom,lol...

This is a pic of a fuel setup that will probably be actually made and installed on Roadkill's car..don't worry about tryin to figure it out,lol..it was a crude drawing to make it easier for us to see what we'd need,etc...

hows that working out for ya?

Racer X 03-04-2004 10:34 PM

You have a schwitzer too rotaryman?I have one also I am looking for info on it.Know any good sites?I need to take some pics of it but it doesn't mount to a manifold like a regular turbo does.It has a 4.5 V-band on it for some reason tho.

That was a joke... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

roadkill669 03-04-2004 11:14 PM

Actually, I have the schwitzer for Rotaryman. Mine has a flange on it that is about 5 inches by 7 inches with a 5 inch vband for the downpipe.

rmaiersg 03-05-2004 09:59 AM

Looks like your schwitzer is as big as mine...

Rotaryman88 03-05-2004 12:03 PM

Yea, that pic was just a joke. That turbo wont mount to the manifold i'll be using and won't clear the fender well,lol...

..it is a nice turbo though, I like the idea that it is all vband..
